The Chalk Dust Settles, and the Research Begins
Survey Results
The initial concept was designed based on early assumptions, before diving into competitor research or analyzing existing teacher workflows. As the list maker emerged as the most needed tool for teachers, I began studying how similar tools approach list creation, focusing on patterns, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
Teachers specifically mentioned the ClassroomScreen list maker tool in the survey, prompting me to conduct a quick competitive analysis to uncover pain points and patterns in its usage.
Iteration #1
The first design revisions were informed by competitive analysis (e.g., ClassroomScreen) and a review of Promethean’s existing tools (Timer and Spinner). I aimed for an intuitive and simple experience that aligns with Promethean’s brand and user patterns. Throughout the process, I collaborated closely with the product manager, backend, and frontend developers to ensure feasibility, share insights, and keep design and functionality aligned.
*The blue notes capture my design thinking while reflecting on the first round of mockups.
Iteration #2
Coming soon.....usability testing, insights, iterations, and the final product.
